Experienced Based Entry

At Murdoch University, we are inclusive and understand that ability, aptitude and motivation to succeed in degree studies can be demonstrated in many ways. If you’re a domestic student and haven’t met a selection rank of 70 via academic ATAR or IB scores, AQF qualifications, or enabling programs, then regardless of whether you are a high school leaver or a mature age applicant, our Experience Based Entry could be the ideal option for you.

Experience Based Entry assesses your academic and vocational and life achievements, in combination. We take into consideration evidence of extracurricular and life experiences, such as employment, volunteering, work experience, sports coaching, and school and community leadership because these are great indicators of your interests, motivation, commitment, and desire to succeed and contribute.

Depending on what you have achieved, we will assign points based on your academic and extracurricular experiences.
You will need a minimum of 3 academic points and 1 experience point to be eligible for consideration under Experience Based Entry. You can find out more about how we assign points here.

Murdoch is a place where diverse experiences are celebrated. We offer different ways to get into uni so that people from a range of backgrounds can access tertiary education. Further information about our alternate pathways can be found at Pathways to Uni.

Experienced Based Entry is only available for domestic applicants.

Experienced Based Entry is not an entry pathway for:
 - Postgraduate courses
 - Nursing, Laboratory Medicine, Engineering (Honours), Law, or Veterinary Medicine
 - Creative Media, or Communication courses.  Please see further information on the Media Portfolio pathway for these courses.

Mature Age applicants may also wish to be consider the Mature Age Pathway as an alternative to Experienced Based Entry.

I am a domestic student applying for a Selection Rank of 70 course other than Nursing, Laboratory Medicine, or Media courses.
